My Drug Addiction Help: Seek Help Before is too Late

February 22nd, 2010

My drug addiction help is something that most people don’t seek until it is too late. Some wait until their loved one has hit rock bottom before even considering the need to find help that will get them to recovery. So many communities in the United States are filled with drug addicts and family who are in distraught about how bad their loved one is doing and yet they stand back and watch it happen without attempting to do anything. This is sometimes because they are afraid of what they will learn about the cause of the destructive behavior. It may that they don’t know where to turn. It also could be that they are fed up of trying so many times only to have the person relapse.

There are so many reasons why people do not seek treatment, but for the most part, they don’t care enough to do so even though it is tearing the family apart. My drug addiction help is available in so many treatment facilities in and around the local area where the drug addict lives. It is so easy to walk into a rehab clinic these days because there are so many government subsidy programs that are incorporated into their treatment programs. This allows them to offer the program for free especially if the person is eligible for it.

No one wants to face the drug problem, but someone has to. If the family feels that this is too much for them, they can call on the help of an interventionist. The interventionist is someone who is trained through possible life experiences and education to handle the issues of drug abuse. There is no reason why the family should not solicit the help of the interventionist because this is someone that knows what he or she is doing. They understand that drug addicts will lie and steal to get out of the situation. They also know that some family members are enablers and are only making the problem worse.

My drug addiction help provides the expertise of an interventionist at a time when the family does not know what else to do and does not know where to turn. It is through research that they may find the help that they need to get the treatment started.

The interventionist is called in and will make an appointment with the other family members for a pre-intervention phase where they will discuss the details without the addict present. Plans will be made to get the addict to show up the next day or at a convenient time to a location that they are familiar and comfortable with.

This is the intervention phase where the interventionist will confront the addict and family members will voice their concern and opinions. It is at this time that the addict is challenged into accepting my drug addiction help that is being offered. Some addicts will refuse. Others will think about it and there are some who will accept right away as if this is exactly what they were waiting for all this time.

Stop addiction with drug and alcohol treatment

January 6th, 2010

You can stop addiction with drug and alcohol treatment if you are persistent to either help yourself or your loved one. Rehabilitation is the best ingredient for addiction. If someone is addicted to a substance, it displays their bad habit and destructive behavior to the point where it is noticeable enough to realize that they need help and need it fast.

It is really very sad to see the statistics of drug and alcohol abuse. It is even more alarming to know that it is also affecting the younger generation. The acceptance of drugs and alcohol should not be tolerated, but society offers an easy way to get these substances even for the younger people.

The effect of addiction is debilitating to the individual who is using the substance and those who are closely connected to this person.  The family members and friends stand and watch from afar to see their loved one’s life slowly go down the drain. In some cases, they are at a loss of what to do. These individuals get so desperate that they become enablers instead of administering tough love. They don’t do it intentionally, but feel sorry for the individual and when asked for money, they do give it to the addict and then feel guilty about it afterwards.

For most of a day, the addict becomes sluggish, tired and sleepy after using the substance. They are not able to function normally because of these tendencies. They end up sleeping half of the day away. They sometimes isolate themselves from the public to shun their behavior from the world. However, it becomes noticeable after a while since the symptoms of sleepiness is hard to hide. Of course, most of them will hide it as much as they can. They will tell lies if they have to and be deceptive.

A drug and alcohol treatment program will be able to stop the addiction and get the individual into a structured and organized plan to save their lives. They will be able to see a doctor for a full physical and detox. This may take a week or some weeks to get them to withdraw from the substance and sober enough to understand what is about to take place in treatment.

Therapy and counseling will generally follow after the person has a mind to listen and to discuss the related problems associated with their addiction. In a lot of instances, it has something to do with their upbringing, current situation and past experiences. When it involves the family, then it becomes appropriate to get the family involved in drug and alcohol treatment as well.

Addiction is rampant in our society and families across the nation grapple to get their loved ones into a drug or alcohol treatment center that will give everyone hope. Without any kind of hope, it is difficult to even think that a treatment method will work. Hope is what gives the addict some kind of anticipation that there will be a better tomorrow for them.

At this Christian rehab facility you find yourself in a completely monitored environment which means there is no chance of you getting your daily quota of dangerous “substances”. More over you will also be given detoxification medication in the initial weeks to flush all the poison from your system. So the withdrawal symptoms are likely to be pronounced and can be really hard to bear. But this too can be reduced with the proper medicines which are given to you here promptly. You could take medicines to bring down your craving instincts too.

How will you keep yourself updated with useful skills? After all once you leave this place you may have to find yourself a job and be independent. Without being idle, you can learn basic software skills. You can also get a basic instruction in managing time, finances and banking. When you implement time management you keep yourself fully occupied - with no period left for tempting you into item abuse. When you learn to keep a tab on your finances you get better control of your life. So these are tools that help you to fall into normal life seamlessly.

You also eat well and work out during your extended stay here; this helps you to get back in shape. By sticking to the same diet plan and exercise regimen you can stay fit always. You are also educated about the harms caused by the drugs/ drinks you use and this too acts as a main reason to keep you away from abuse.

Finally what is the glue that sticks all the above steps together and keeps it effective forever? It is faith based activities that encourage the “patient” to place their faith in a higher authority and perform actions around that belief including pray, listen to lectures and sermons, doing community service etc. They give a useful occupation during leisure and thus turn your thoughts to positive things. You get the conviction that your problems will be taken care of; you will focus on solving it rather than worrying about it. You are just enabled to lead a life of joy and freedom without the shadow of drinks or drugs.
